Kata's husband began as one in the service crew for Haukur Þorvaldsson who owns the car "The Soap" (last seen on Hella 2016) back in 2008 and hasn't been able to stop. It was only an idea that Kata would sit behind the wheel on the new car that they bought for Formula Off-Road so she could participate.

At this time I've only seen the car. I've never sat in it or heard the engine turned, so I have no idea what I got myself into

Kata stated 3. May 2016.

However, it seems she had a lot of fun last season and was 4th in the Icelandic Championship.

Car:

Hulk was built in back in 1990 by a man called Leó Viðar Björnsson but has it gone through several owners like Stefán Bjarnhéðinssn who named the car "Kaldi" (see also: New Build by Stefán Bjarnhéðinsbut in April 2016 Jakob Pálsson bought the car from Stefán with one condition. That he and Kata's husband, Sævar Jónsson would upgrade the rollcage so it would fit to the newest regulations and be race ready for the first round of the Icelandic championship. In addition to the rollcage they also had to find an engine for the car.
